We are happy to take our guests to Mt. Cook (New Zealand's highest mountain), the stunning glacier-fed Lake Benmore, or to Lake Tekapo where you can enjoy a scenic flight over the main divide of the South Island. These and a number of other unique New Zealand attractions are all available as day trips.

Glenlea is only one hour north of Christchurch,just off State Highway 7, forty minutes away is the popular resort of Hanmer Springs, or stop off on your way to the West Coast.
Glenlea can be used as a base for visits to: Kaikoura Whale Watch, the Wineries at Waipara, fishing the Hurunui or Waiau Rivers a visit to Lake Sumner Forest Park or a day trip to Hanmer Springs to enjoy its wonderful relaxing hot pools.
If fine wine and food is your thing then a visit to one of the 15 vineyards and wineries in the Waipara area is a must, or even better, take a wine trail by horse and wagon.
Kaikoura on the other hand is a haven for observing aquatic wild life, including whale watching, swimming with the dolphins or seals, or viewing albatross.
